Network PC's in Win 10 (1803)

Recommended Posts

Sounds like a plan. I picked up some good tips from your "unofficial guide" which must have taken you a good while to write...thanks for taking the time to write it.

I've found that people just dismiss any OS that aren't used to. I know it's a pain to start learning again but it does open up new, or different ways of doing things.

Thanks for the positive response. A neighbour asked me to help with his Notebook which had Vista on it and could not connect to the Router - was looking to try to get upgrade to Windows 10. I showed him Zorin 12.3 which:

1. Picked up network instantly in live mode.

2. Picked up his Canon printer as soon as selected 'add printer'

Case closed! ;):D

[Well I started a new topic as promised but Moderators did not approve it - perhaps it is something to do with algorithms? https://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11871877&postcount=1 :hihi:

Mention Vista again and you'll be sent to stand in the corner ;)

Mind you, the jury is still out between Vista and Win 8. Both utter nails IMO.

Vista is one showboat I missed. 8.1 was OK, but then you had to have been using something like Pear Linux (http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Operating-Systems/Linux-Distributions/Pear-Linux-76309.shtml) to understand it (a former moderator on Zorin reliably informed me that two ex-Canonical employees designed the DE - and the 'overview' function of the Windows key in Win 10 has also come from Ubuntu/Gnome Shell as the exact same function is available under Zorin (but you will have read that anyway in the manual. ;) )
