Vanity Fair on ITV

Recommended Posts

This was overshadowed by 'Bodyguard' because they were both on at the same time on Sunday evenings, but thanks to iplayer and ITV Hub, I've been able to watch them both. The dialogue has been altered for a modern audience, Dobbin is better looking than his description in the book and Becky's affair with Lord Steyne which was only hinted at in the novel is more explicit, but overall, I think it's excellent.

I'm enjoying it.

For me, a good period drama can sometimes be a welcome distraction from some of those gloomy depressing dramas reflecting modern day life.

I agree, I prefer the period dramas adapted from the period books rather than say Downtown Abbey

Yes me too.

I seem to enjoy the ones adapted from the popular classics the most.
