Flexible hoses for plumbing, are they reliable?

Recommended Posts

I've just fitted a flexible hose to my cistern connection, unfortunately I had to kink it slightly to fit (300mm seems to be shortest available). Perhaps I ought to replace it with a rigid pipe.

So, can anyone comment on the reliability of these fittings?

Sorry, the flexi ones. Advice seems to be not to kink them.

Dont kink them. Can you make curl ? Or buy a longer one and use the extra mm's to form a nice sweeping curve.

A professional may disagree but thats not a bad kink, i've seen installed bathrooms with more severe.

I read that burst hoses are responsible for 22% of water damage claims in Australia, although there are several reasons for this.
