Jeffrey Shaw   89 #16 Posted July 24, 2018 He was a good Sunday afternoon presenter on BBC Radio Sheffield. Wasn't he on "The Comedians" a long, long time ago?
 Share this content via...
jaffa1 Â Â 10 #17 Posted July 24, 2018 I never recall him ever being on the comedians, I just remember him being on the working mens clubs and also remember some of his family.
 Share this content via...

Owethemnowt   10 #20 Posted July 25, 2018 (edited) Never heard of him at all - certain of that - and am surprised that presumably in a place with an audience no one else intervened.  After all, and I'm not sure, don't audience's sit rather close to each other? Often in rows or grouped closely around tables. That sort of thing.  And then, again presumably, Jimmy stops the show, leaves the stage to intervene, again watched by a static audience who then also remain impassive as it all goes wrong ..... again.  Have a go heroes shouldn't.  Security should.  I hope he makes a full recovery and stays well out of such fracas in future. Daven   10 #21 Posted July 25, 2018 I met him once some time ago. I speak as I find and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I hope the coward who caused him harm is caught and is charged appropriately.
 Share this content via...

Daven   10 #23 Posted July 25, 2018 He isn't a 'have a go hero'. He is a man with principles and someone who is annoyed by disrespect. There are many on SF who could take a leaf out of Jimmy's book. I really do hope that he makes a full recovery X
 Share this content via...
abbeyedges   82 #24 Posted July 25, 2018 I've worked on a number of functions near to Jimmy's home in Chapel en le Frith. Always did it for charitable causes. Very blue but very very funny and a decent man.  All the best Jimmy.
 Share this content via...
