Lots of people think it`s a good idea to go `dry` this month but there is an alternative!

https://www.tryanuary.com/

This is an initiative to support our fantastic local pubs, off licences and breweries. We`ve helped to sort out lots of events and offers in our city this month so keep a look out and give it a go. The 11th is the day that the Sheffield `champions` takeover the national twitter feed and # so that could be interesting!

I'm going to support my local pub tonight, with a pint (or three) in the Hollin Bush. Then I'm going to support my local Working Men's club with another couple.

To Beer! To pubs! To the British way of life.

I'll be spending January seeking out new and interesting beers to try.

Not sure that really differs from any other month, mind...

8.5% Raspberry stout in The Blake tonight.

Stick that up your sanctimonious "Dryanuary" bottoms.

It's no longer January. I will continue the tradition into February. Lets try Bevvyuary (bit of a shoe in l know). No matter, a few beers and a Captain at the end of the working week....

Or l could sit at home with my tinny and virtual friends on Face-ache

It's Friday Hurray!

In honour of Marchigras, and baring in mind my Dry 13 days. I think a couple or three in my local followed by a couple or more in the club will pass the night away nicely. And, of course, finishing with a Captain.

"The Captain!"

---------- Post added 03-04-2018 at 09:00 ----------

Been away this weekend to foreign lands. Tried the local brew as indeed you should. A fine beer, malty Pilsner with a real bite...

"To Eurobeer!"

---------- Post added 06-04-2018 at 08:44 ----------

It's April Lets go for ABVril. Rubbish I know but the best l can do so far.

A few in my local and a few in the club will suffice for this weekend
And, of course, a Captain....

"The Captain!"

Nobody reads this anyway....

Got a dry weekend this time. Not really a drinker in the house. Look forward to a few come next Friday though....

"To thirst!"

---------- Post added 23-04-2018 at 16:24 ----------

Had a few beers this Weekend. Pint of John Smiths, pint of Stones. Keeping it real. No pretentious drinking but as always.... Finish with The Captain

"Ahoy me hearties!"

I get the feeling no-one else goes out.

Squeezed a couple of pints of Carlsberg in at The Leadmill yesterday watching Paul Sinah. You know what? It probably isn't the best larger in the world.

No beer tonight but a couple tomorrow... And, of course, a Captain.

"To ABVril!"
