The Chelsea Girl I remember was on Fargate. I worked there from 1980. Loved it :)

That shop was near the junction of Howard Street and Union Street facing the Town Hall and run by Roger Howe.

I loved trying the clothes on there. I would try them on for a hour and buy bundles. I loved the shop, but I did get strange looks when I asked for 34" jeans. And when I asked for the men's toilet

Was that the one with the communal changing room full of mirrors at the back of the shop with swing doors ?

Guys used to stand outside and get a good look every time the doors opened ?

I had a Saturday job at the Co Op in Haymarket and when I got paid at lunch time I went straight to Chelsea Girl on King St. and spent the lot.
