Lawn full of mushrooms!

Recommended Posts

More or less overnight, literally hundreds of mushrooms - toadstools? - have sprung up all over the lawn.

Lived here for over 15 years, and have never experienced it before.

I've resisted giving the grass a (final?) cut for fear of spreading the damn things...am I correct in doing so?

The only major thing that's happened during the summer is that I had two large trees crowned/topped....other than that, a couple of new acers in pots and the usual hanging basket type things, so nothing particularly different/exciting....

Apparently mushrooms/toadstools help plants feed from the soil more efficiently, therefore is not such a bad thing having them in the garden.

They do prefer damp soil, cutting the trees would have caused the soil to stay wetter.
