redwhine   10 #1 Posted March 20, 2018 Oral Health as a Life Course Programme  The talk will focus on whether or not we can conceive of oral health as a life course project. The talk will look at data taken from qualitative interviews with older people exploring the significance of the mouth and oral health in older age. We will also explore when it became possible to conceive of being able to keep one's teeth into older age and what the consequences might be for society. If this project were to be recognised what might the implications be for health and social policy?  Professor Barry Gibson is a sociologist who has spent the last twenty years working in dentistry. He teaches sociology to dental students and writes about oral health, dentistry and society. He spends most of his time outside of work walking his dog, going to the cinema and listening to podcasts. He would like to be better at photography but well you know.  http://sheffield.skepticsinthepub.org/  https://www.facebook.com/events/173368959939295/
 Share this content via...
