blackydog   40 #25 Posted October 31, 2016 How did everyone get on? Break any PBs? What was the event like?  Done sub 50 mins in practice, but always agreed to start with a mate at 1hr 10mins start. I did 50:57 got pretty much blocked until Eccy Rd. Felt really good with my run but left with too much to do to break 50 mins. Waldo   96 #26 Posted October 31, 2016 My wife enjoyed it. Ran with a friend and was ok with her time. Event seemed good as we watched from Endcliffe Park. OH said it was tougher than expected with hills after Endcliffe.  Oh cool. Will be tempted to do it for next year. Looks like it's at the end of September too, so won't need to miss Worksop.  ---------- Post added 31-10-2016 at 10:46 ----------  Done sub 50 mins in practice, but always agreed to start with a mate at 1hr 10mins start. Felt really good with my run but left with too much to do to break 50 mins.  Just had a look at the results, think it was around 3285 finishers, so imagine a bit of congestion at the start; normally, they put a bottle neck just before the start line, so it thins out a bit more for the actual race. Anyhow, well done on your time; you'll have to enter another 10k to get your sub-50! If you're tempted, Leeds Abbey Dash is a fast 10k course..  ---------- Post added 31-10-2016 at 23:29 ----------  Leeds Abbey Dash is next Sunday by the way. Not sure if you can still enter... Plus blades are playing Sunday. My chip place was 914th from memory.
 Share this content via...

blackydog   40 #35 Posted September 25, 2017 How did you get on? I was pretty much where I hoped, so happy with that That sun felt a little warm though I've got to say!  Went perfect. Managed to keep inside 5 mins per kilometer at every 1k checkpoint. Knew I was well in front racing down Brocco bank. Crossed the line at 47:47, well pleased. Was a little warm for it, but i had done my preparation. I even did a couple of 4ks in the Florida heat in August. I finished quite strongly, having a race to the line with a young girl. Have to say though even though I was injury free with no aches or anything, my legs were saying enough.
 Share this content via...
