Recommended Posts

Our chemney leaks every time it rains heavy. We have had a builder and roofer out over the last two years who have made various changes (or they told us they have), however its stil dripping and letting rain water in. Any ideas??

Have you had a look at the flashing around the chimney base where it joins the roof?

We had to change the cowl on ours as it still dripped down the chimney a bit when it rained heavily.

You dont say were water is coming in / Is it down the inside of stack or out side as if its getting past flashing . Some times it can get in above stack through ridge or lead a valley and water travels down a spar until it meets stack

All we hear is dripping water on the fire plate above the wood burner. We had the cowl replaced last year so it shouldn't be just rain water coming in, but that is what it sounds like.
