When the internet was born!

Recommended Posts

Following on from the 'inventor of the internet' thread I thought I'd add this little news bulletin.

This Canadian News Bulletin was broadcast when the internet wasn't as vast and well known as today.

It opens in Windows media player and is 6 mins long.

However it's very interesting.

Have things changed? Well I disagree with one of the speakers comments on the internet for sure... see if you spot it!

...there's not a lot of cursing or swearing, there's not a lot of erm, personal... um... cut, there's not a lot of, um, put-downs that one would expect to find. There's not, y'know, screenfulls of, y'know... "Go to hell!"...
That bit? :)
:-] I AM KIDDING

:-[ I AM SERIOUS

Or maybe that? Or the best bit...
(picture of Swedish flag) Starin, in Oslo...

There's also...

...accurate details of testimony at a manslaughter trial...
...and a few seconds later...
The murder file...

That's great! I was wondering about that kind of thing the other day...

First one was right!

I see so much cursing all the time online cos people are resonably safe!

Still a good bulletin wasn't it!
