I am not sure if this has already been said but is the uncertainty about Westwood down to wages.

If his contract is heavily weighted toward appearance money then their hands may be tied due to breaking their wage budget.

No idea what it is with Westwood (I don't agree with it) but I don't think appearances has anything to do with it or the players union would be saying so.

With wildsmith & Dawson we have 2 young good goal keepers , but in saying that Westwood can gain you points & to me it's a no brainer to play him.

WAWAW 2.1 Owls

Westwood did seem to have a mare at times last season though. An in form Westwood is worth being in team though I agree, I presumed he wasn't played last week because he was moving on. Anyway I'd have wildsmith in over dawson at the minute.
Think we'll lose today, 2-1 hull

Play off final re match on home soil,Hull could have gone in 2 up.
2nd half we could have had four or five.
3 years on,weve not rectified the shortcommings of that loss,if owt weve gone backwards at further expense......

Fletcher missed a couple of absolute sitters (no change there), Forestieri looked fairly unhappy for a lot of the game, the defence played like half of them hadn't played alongside each other before in the first half, the centre midfield sat deep and isolated from the forwards and the wingers, especially on the right, frequently moved into good space but were ignored by everyone else in favour of passing it to people who were surrounded by Hull players...

And yet somehow we still should have won.

The periennial Wednesday question still applies... Why don't they play the full 90 minutes with the same tempo as they often play in the 2nd half?

Copied this from a post on another forum, but have to agree with much of it.

This seemed to work quite well yesterday when Thornley came on.
Thornley was very solid but didn't really advance beyond halfway, which isn't too surprising given he is a centre half. Instead Fessi did most of the left wing work, with Bannan occasionally overlapping.
On the other hand Baker continued as an attacking wing back and was responsible for the right wing play.
This seemed to work well for a number of reasons.
1) Fessi always seems most effective cutting in from the left.

2) Reech was often more advanced and played as a 10 at times.

3) Bannan had a more free roll and could influence all over the pitch because...

4) Hutch had more freedom to break from the back knowing Thornley could cover at the back. This not only helped free up Bannan in midfield but also saw Hutch bringing the ball out on the break to set up Baker as he bombed on.
I know this was all born out of necessity but it did seem to work. Is there any reason why we can't play one full back and one wing back in future? Lopsided it may be but does it matter?

I totally disagree on Forestieri he had a great game barring a few stray passes, his wife and young son (for the first time) were also there, he had a bit of banter with a fan regarding a drink from their water bottle and presented them with his shirt at full time - far from unhappy.
