The council has approved the opening of a new micropub in Hillsborough.

Concerns were raised that it could attract gangs of rowdy football fans but that doesn't appear to be the customer base they are looking for.

Oh excellent! I'd been hoping that this would get approved - it will be a great addition for us!

Belperite - it's going to be on Middlewood Road - opposite the park.

See, thats what I thought, but the Star article implies it will be within Hillsborough arcade.

The Star never gets its facts right, it has lost so many customers over the years it's just not worth the paper it's written on. You get more up to date news on SF and lots of sarcasm thrown in too.

The planning application says 185 Middlewood Road. It's that row of units opposite the park, not sure which one though.

I'm glad it's been approved, it's just what the area needs.

181 is the Temptaion café on the corner which I think stretches to 181-183. Could it be the Excel hair and beauty salon?

Google says it's the old crafting shop that closed down.

These new micropubs are excellent additions to the city. We are going back to how pubs traditionally developed rather than the over commercial modern chain pubs with their noisy interiors full of TVs and gambling machines.
