I can't be bothered to try and set up a new society outside the constraints of our current one, whilst living in a tent outside a church! Not in November! Might be a laugh when you are unemployed and 21 though!

it will be handy for them to get the tram home

mind you, given that many of the people who hang round the cathedral look a bit tatty at times would anyone notice if there were a few more?

They're the users of the archer project though - they've a right to be there, and we'd all look tatty if we were homeless...

Aren't they just the smokers from outside Cavell's?

Judging by the moaning made on this Occupy Sheffield website about the management of the Cathedral it was obvious this was where they would go.

So what are the great unwashed protesting about now?

doubt that will be an issue if they become a nuisance

if they are colourful and don't smell too much they may become something of a tourist attraction

I think that's wrong. If you want to protest, do it in front of the people you feel have wronged you. Council or government property. We've got moorfoot (used to be dept of employment - what's it called this week ?) - occupy their car park and outside space. I can just about stomach the st Pauls thing as it's right in the heart of the finicial district but just pitching up at a cathedral in Sheffield (which as a city has nowt to do with much) is cowardly and disrespectful.

Why the Cathedral? Would it not be more obvious to protest outside the Town Hall?
