Council contributing to repair cost

Recommended Posts

Has anyone got sheffield council to contribute to repair costs ? I share path with neighbour but it's in a poorish state so wondered if I could get council to contribute to cost if I arrange for it to be sorted .i know if council does it they would expect some of cost off me .i don't want council doing it as I want more than the shared bit doing it but if I have to let council do so be it (only want council contributing for shared part )

Do SCC own both houses [i.e. both are still on SCC lettings] or next-door only [i.e. yours was an RTB sale]?

OK- so look at the deed plan re your house (perhaps when RTB completed). It should show the extent of the easements (= joint paths etc.) The Deed's text should stipulate:

a. which house's owner is obliged to maintain the path; and

b. what contributions each house's owner has to pay.
