poppet2 Â Â 13 #1 Posted August 15, 2018 People I know have had their DLA/PlP stopped, then asked for a mandatory reconsideration. For some people this is taking five months. Meanwhile, they are left without their benefits whilst awaiting the mandatory reconsideration letter. The problem is you can't appeal without that letter. Has anyone else had to wait so long? poppet2 Â Â 13 #3 Posted August 15, 2018 A person I know got their mandatory reconsideration within a month. Now waiting for the appeal date. Â That is the correct procedure because when you ring them they inform you it will take 10 days.
 Share this content via...
Itrytoplease   10 #4 Posted August 17, 2018 How long does it take?  The DWP does not have a deadline for doing the Mandatory Reconsideration. Some reconsiderations take 2 weeks, some take several months.  If you have not received your Mandatory Reconsideration Notice, it is a good idea to call the DWP after:  2 weeks to check they have logged your Mandatory Reconsideration 8 weeks to check how much longer it will take 12 weeks to chase again  If you are not happy with how long a Mandatory Reconsideration is taking, you may want to complain or tell your MP.  https://www.turn2us.org.uk/Benefit-guides/Challenging-a-Personal-Independence-Payment-decisi/Get-Mandatory-Reconsideration-Notice  This is also backed up by the CAB. ..  Getting your mandatory reconsideration result  The DWP doesn’t have to make the decision within a specific timescale and sometimes it can take several months to get your decision letter - this letter is called a ‘mandatory reconsideration notice’. You’ll be sent 2 copies - you’ll need to send 1 off if you need to go to the next stage of appeal.  https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/appeals/mandatory-reconsideration/
 Share this content via...
