mikeG Â Â 16 #6 Posted February 23, 2011 Used to go there in my lunch hour. One day saw Tony Kay, Peter Swan and Bronco discussing 'tactics' over the juke box. Anyone remember 'Paul's Pantry? It was on a little bridge near the Middlewood Road end of Holme Lane. Egg, chips and beans and a cuppa for 4/6d in 1961.
 Share this content via...

diksey   17 #10 Posted February 12, 2017 Did David Layne also have a café on Penistone Road north, perhaps opposite the old 'Gate' pub and before the railway bridge ?  There was a café where you say, it was called the New Stand Café. It used to open at 4am, we sometimes went for breakfast after a night out. This was back in the late sixties, never saw David Layne there.
