Though I lived in Attercliffe up to the age of ten, and then moved on to the Littledale in 1967, I can vividly remember the Doctor's surgery - the freezing cold shack that masqueraded as a waiting room.

 

Now that WAS austerity.

We lived the other side on Nightingale street and used to cross Fredrick St to get to school - Whitby Road
