I work for a charity and me and my colleagues get very riled up by our Chief Exec's salary. They do seem to do a good job overall but we seriously question why they are paid that much. What's frustrating is that there is almost nothing we can do about it. It's also a real problem in housing associations, some of the exec salaries there are eye watering. Of course this just mirrors what has been happening in the private sector for years, it's all out of control

The "charity" in this case ,I think, is motability which gets all its money from the government ie the tax payer....thats if I've read the report correctly

I am reading many times in this thread, and others, that so and so gets x times more then the prime minister. Since when did the salary of the prime minister set the standard pay to be compared with and why is that viewed as acceptable? It implies that the PM is some poor average paid worker, which she definitely is NOT!!!

Surely the more acceptable standard to compare against is the average wage? The prime minister currently gets 5 times that and an MP @ 2.5

If the OP is referring to Motability, and they do have £2.5B in the bank then I say make that CEO the PM on their current 11x wage because anyone who can turn the megre disability allowance into a brand new adapted and maintained vehicle and make a profit is a genius who should be applauded and promoted.
