Memories of Shiregreen/Firth park

Recommended Posts

HI ALL,

I am looking to gather a range of images of what Sheffield was like throughout history. I am particularly interested in pictures of the Shiregreen and Firth Park area. If you have anything that may be of interest and could spark a discussion that would be great. the images are to be used as a conversation starter at a men's over 50's games afternoon at Stubbin community center. If you have any images on the computer and would be willing to send them across that would be great. However, we are more than happy for you to come along and show us what you have.

The sessions are every Tuesday 13:00 - 15:00 at stubbin community, 45 Fairthorne road, S5. That being said if there are any other blokes who would like to come and reminisce about the 'good old days' as one of our guys puts it then you are more than welcome.

Thanks,

Just the words, Shiregreen & Firth Park bring back memories from the 40's. I was at the Red caps for a while, a regular customer of the Paragon. Concord Park ,along with Wollywoods was a great play/adventure place. Days that are gone forever.

The three books published in 2001/03/ 06 by Bryan Woodriff about Shire Green, Wincobank and Ecclesfield (Britain in Old Photographs) contain a wealth of information which should keep you reminiscing for months!
