ohmyword   10 #1 Posted May 16, 2017 I was walking with my friend to Morrisson's to buy some beer last night and saw the Hillsborough Barracks. Very impressive. When was the last time the army were there though?
 Share this content via...

ohmyword   10 #3 Posted May 16, 2017 Google is your friend: Hillsborough Barracks  Thanks. So according to Wikileaks, no one has bothered to go there since 1930. Seems a shame cos it looks nice there. Hopefully it will be used by the army again one day.
 Share this content via...

Broakham   10 #6 Posted May 16, 2017 I have a vague recollection of reading that British Army barracks were built to standardised plans depending on where in the world they were being built, and that Hillsborough barracks were built to Indian barracks plans due to an error by the War Department. Has anyone else heard of this?
 Share this content via...
carosio   185 #7 Posted May 20, 2017 Finest example of a walled barracks outside London I read somewhere, or at least it was until Mcdonalds, B&Q and Morrisons were allowed to build there.
 Share this content via...
