MP John Woodcock quits Labour with attack on 'hard left'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44871628

A shame, he was a good Labour MP, well liked by the locals (aside from the "sex pest" allegations of course).

No doubt like John Mann, a "troublemaker" who will be replaced by another Momentum crony.

Yeah, a good mp, apart from the, what was it 2000 sex texts? Yeah perhaps a great mp in your book, certainly not in minei

The problem John Mann has is that he represents a constituency that voted heavily for Brexit but is also in one of the areas that will be first hit by Brexit.

Trying to be more Brexit than Boris is all very well in the short term, but in the long term his constituents will want to know why he didn't tell them what the real implications of leaving the EU were.

Aye, but give the bloke his due. His constituents were just about the highest number of Brexit voters in the Country. Every time I have seen an interview with him he has always stated that he will carry the Brexit result forward, as per their vote.

Relate this against Anna Soubry who's constituents also voted leave. She has totally ignored their wishes and pursued her own personal agenda of been a chief remainer. Hopefully they will remember when the next election is called and she will be history.

She had better hope that the next election is not too soon then, because by then the effects of Brexit will have started to bite and when people who voted Leave realise that it is far from being the promised land, they will remember who helped it happen and who tried to stop it.

You need to take off the Corbyn blinkers - you clearly didn't see the bit in my post where I already referred to that.

Oh I saw it, sex pest allegations...but 2000 texts over a two year period whilst being married, that takes it to a whole new level, but if you think he is ok thats up to you

Lets not forget that these are claims and the inquiry is still ongoing.

Mr Woodcock, who is on the right of the party, had the Labour whip withdrawn earlier this year amid claims he sent inappropriate messages to a former female member of staff.

He has said he does not accept the charges and was fully co-operating with an internal inquiry.

Mr Woodcock said at the time the allegation was “not true, has never been true and would never be true”.

He blamed a smear campaign and vowed legal action against those behind the rumours.

But if you want to judge and hang him, go for it. I wonder if you'd feel the same if it was a pro-Corbyn Labour MP.....

Id feel the same about any of them, pro or anti Corbyn..I expect better than that, if he was found to be guilty of the accusations would you still think he was ok?

Do you subscribe to the idea that its his personal life?

In banjos world John Mann is defined by one thing and one thing only. He opposes Corbyn. And for that he needs to be vilified, labelled a Snowball (ref Animal Farm) and kicked put of the party.

in my world John Mann is defined by being one of the main reasons why the party is viewed as unelectable, what with his constant running to the press and his stage manage performance with Ken Livingstone, the man does nothing but tirelessly berate Corbyn and then declares that Labour would never win an election with Corbyn at the helm, knowing full well that he, and many like him are one of the main reasons why the party is unelectable, the man and many like him are plants, they do not belong in the labour party, the man is not a socialist
