Can each claim for the other to be the carer?  I can't find an answer to this question, does anyone know of a link that leads to the answer?  Yes they can claim, there is no exclusion but there are complications. The only criteria is that a carer must provide 35+ hours of support and of course one of the partners might not be able to do this. The support does no have to be very physical.  Go to the CAB to check benefit entitlements and clashes, before making a claim.
