George Kennedy dies at 91.

American character actor George Kennedy passed away Sunday at the ripe old age of 91. Probably his most famous role was in Cool Hand Luke and the scrap he has with Paul Newman ("STAY DOWN") in which he won an Oscar for best supporting actor. He was also Leslie Neilson's sidekick in the Naked Gun films. R-I-P

Yes , he played Herman Scobie.

I remember James Coburn's character saying when he was killed - 'maybe one day he'll meet up with his other hand'

My fave film with Mr Kennedy was The Boston Strangler - great film!

Kennedy was great in two of Clint's films too, i.e. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and the Eiger Sanction.
