Massive Hammering noise from Carter Knowle way

Does anyone know what the loud hammering noise is coming from over Carter Knowle way- it's been going for the past few weeks ? It's going on now , and can be heard mostly around midday in the week.. Can hear it from Nether Edge/Brincliffe apparently ..

It's building work on the new development on the former playing fields. We hear it loud and clear and went on a sortie to track it down.

I was under the impression it was housing but I could be wrong.

When is it due to stop? What is it they are doing?!

It's incredibly loud across that side of the city.
