Have foxes stolen/delivered shoes??

I put a pair of slightly whiffy sandals outside my back door last night (in Nether Edge). When I got up this morning, one had gone! Having googled it I have discovered that foxes can be partial to nicking single shoes for their cubs to play with. This is quite sweet, but also annoying as I have a sandal missing now (including insert for my achillies injury). Anyway, I've also read that foxes may dump all the single shoes that they nick in one place....so - if you have random single shoes and sandals dumped in your garden, please let me know xxx
