WarPig   78 #1 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) I don't have an ordnance survey map to hand, but does anyone know the hight of the hills surrounding Sheffield, relative to the city centre? For example, how high is the ground where Norton water tower sits, relative to the city centre (not sea level)?  Also, the steepness of the hills, would Blackstock Rd be say a 1 in 5? ZIPPYZ   10 #2 Posted October 15, 2017 Bing Maps has an OS overlay (click on the menu title Road in the top right) - https://www.bing.com/maps  Something like Mapmyrun or Strava will have a route planner in that will show gradients to a reasonable degree of accuracy
 Share this content via...
I1L2T3 Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 15, 2017 Norton water tower is at about 700-750ft. Think the city centre is at about 100ft. Most of the hills within 2-3 miles of the centre are going to be similar. Move further out especially south and west, and Lodge Moor and Ringinglow for example are about 1000ft. Further west still and it goes to 1700ft+ in the peaks.
