Morts 17 #1 Posted July 9, 2017 Received the latest Broadleaf magazine from The Woodland Trust the other day. An interesting article. Frederick Burgan was the most generous benefactor the Woodland Trust has ever known. He left them £9.1 million in his will. It says he lived in Sheffield right beside Whiteley Woods and lived to walk up the Porter Valley and would wear his polished brogues and flannel trousers throughout. An insurance heir, he trained as a barrister but returned profoundly deaf from the war. He and his wife shared a deep love of the countryside and part of his gift has been earmarked for restoration of Smithills Estate on the edge of Bolton! There's nothing about him on Google but what a gesture.
 Share this content via...
Lex Luthor 10 #2 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) Great of you to share that. Interesting and heart-warming. Thanks. Shame a good share wasn't apportioned for projects where he used to love to wander though.
