Predictions for 2018

What major predictions do forum members think may happen in the coming year both local and national.

My biggest one is that we will have a general election with no clear winner once again.

Also the World cup will see some of the worst football hooliganism, this will also be combined with a team being disqualified for drug abuse .

A large development in Sheffield will go bust this could involve council services or contracts. The council will deny any responsibility .

Large inner City office and retail developments will remain empty while Meadow hall goes from strength to strength .

I think your predictions about Sheffield are very realistic

Won't be another general election, if there was it would be a record low turnout. I'm not sure much will happen. With all the upheaval both home and abroad I don't see much happening in the next year.

I predict I'll be perpetually skint just like 2017.

The Sheffield electorate will continue to moan about Julie Dore; Bryan Lodge & the Lab councillors in general, then not bother turning out to vote come May 2018.

The Amey tail will continue to wag the Bryan Lodge dog & SCC in general. A whistleblowler will finally leak the full contract between SCC & AMEY.

Having said that it will cost £500,000, (which would have to come out of front line services), to keep the trees on Western Rd, SCC will spend £1 million on a feasibility study to rebuild Sheffield Castle.

Both the Blades & the Owls will be in the Championship come August 2018.

The NHS will be in crisis between Jan - June, then July - Dec.
