I'll always remember him for that highbrow drama about neighbourhood conflict called Rhubarb and Custard.

News today that Bob Godfrey (animator of said "Roobarb") has died at age 91. I liked the way his cartoons vibrated.

Although I never got the charm of "The Good Life", I did appreciate Briers' versatility and talent, particularly in something like the radio play "Hancock's Last Half Hour", which I heard (repeated) on BBC4 Extra a couple of weeks back.
