Recommended Posts

No obesity, no fast food places, no mobile phones, hardly any traffic, not sure about the airport though

No food...

Mr Palin was very empathetic with the young female minder/translator and sussed quite quickly where her discomfort zone was when speaking about sensitive issues and didn't push it.

Really enjoyable two parter, but with Michael Palin presenting, it couldn't be anything but ..... he's top class.

And he didn't denigrate her, or the system, even though he probably disagreed with it. That's what makes him a brilliant presenter.

They all seemed quite content though, perhaps they have no choice...they didn’t look as though they were starving to be honest

The men get 5 litres of free beer a month :o

What a great 2 part series, what a bizzare country N Korea is

Makes you think, being controlled might not be that bad

Let’s face it who is more controlled us here or the N Koreans ... mm

Umm probably the North Koreans having read about life (and death) in the forced labour camps in the book The Aquariums of Pyongyang- a good read by the way
