dawnjj   10 #2 Posted September 24, 2017 its probably for identification purposes so if youve got more than one hdmi device you dont get confused
 Share this content via...
Ghozer   112 #3 Posted September 24, 2017 because on the Sky Q box, the HDMI socket is colour coded pink... as are the rest of the cables, so you know you plug the correct cable into the correct place...  Pink = HDMI Yellow = LAN Blue = Power  http://images.cdn.whathifi.com/sites/whathifi.com/files/styles/big-image/public/brands/SkyQ/sky_q_back.jpg?itok=7AJ4uQfD
 Share this content via...
alan p   15 #4 Posted September 25, 2017 Hello to you both, thanks for getting back to me,its not the Qbox its a normal Sky HD box which only has the one HDMI socket so there wouldn't be any confusion where to fit the cable. I was thinking it might have a different use other than just a normal HDMI cable. Thanks again.Alan.
 Share this content via...

I was thinking it might have a different use other than just a normal HDMI cable. Thanks again.Alan.  I believe the normal Sky HD has a pink surround also, it's something they brought in with new(er) Sky HD boxes... (though I don't think all will have it)  but one cable supplier for them all, is probably the reason...
 Share this content via...
