Ewing93   10 #1 Posted July 8, 2018 What does a nightclub mean to its city?  With aggressive redevelopers and increasing rents contributing to a continued fall in the number of nightclubs and music venues across the UK, these havens of creativity and hedonism are becoming more and more precious to those who frequent them.  Sheffield is no stranger to exciting, forward thinking nightlife, but neither is it immune to their myriad threats. For many dance music fans who have lived in Sheffield over the years, there is one particular closure which is pulling heavily on their heartstrings: that of DLS, or has it has later been known, The Night Kitchen.  Over the past few months, as part of my MA, I have been collecting photographs and images of the venue from across its history to exhibit as part of a small display. But as well as viewing photos from the site’s past, it will also be an opportunity for you to share your thoughts on what you would prefer to see this industrial den become in the future.  Jessop West Foyer 12th and 13th July 10am – 4pm
 Share this content via...
