Taxpayer support

Recommended Posts

What do you want me to say? They've screwed everyone over and now they're getting back on track. Brown had to bail the banks out to save th country from catastrophe. Shame he didn't have enough reserves to do it more safely.

Anyway this thread is about benefits. Enough has already been said about the bankers. It's for another thread.

It is a travesty. The system is a travesty. I hope the tories continue to try to sort it out.

How are we back on track? The banks are still behaving in the same ways.

To be honest I'm more bothered about the bankers that have cost us hundreds of billions of pounds.

If you wanna start talking about taxpayer support there's a great place to start ;)

To be fair though you must admit they have made us more money than they lost. The same can't be said of the financial migrants.

A recent study showed that bankers destroy £7 for every £1 they are paid.

Benefit fraud is a tiny, tiny, problem. It's insignificant. The tories have demonised all benefits claimants (successfully looking at some of the posters on this thread) and are reducing benefits to the majority, very few of whom are claiming anything fraudulently.

It must really hack people off who work for a living and get less than people who come half way across the world to be given free stuff at their expense.

especially when said employers get their workers paid topped up with gov handouts :hihi:

The first point doesn't excuse the behaviour of the banks.

The second sentence is debatable. There's a decent thread on here about it with good arguments from both sides

Ah yes - that old chestnut. Along with "... and this bloke down the road .... never had a job .... on top whack ..."

It's not actually true, you know.

I suppose if you look at it sideways whilst standing on your head.

It's true in plenty of cases. This one looks true too.
