woodview 10 #1 Posted October 11, 2018 BBC reports Police had to spend £18m policing Trumps recent visit. Coming up is Princess Eugenes wedding, which will be another £2-4m. Following on from recent TV shows about lack of funds preventing follow-up of many crimes, should these addtional costs be funded by other means? woodview 10 #3 Posted October 11, 2018 It'd be interesting to see the costings for that... I thought that. The article says 10,000 officers were needed on the 4 day trip. £18m / 10k officers = £1800 each officer. Of course there are other costs, not just wage-bill. And maybe the officers didn't get that money some will be 'admin' ...... Still, it's a big chunk of money that was found. Hopefully there'll similar found when old Mrs Smith rings up to report vandalism etc.
 Share this content via...

I know when Leeds United played a football game, some or all of the policing bill was sent to the football club. Both Trump and the Royals are rich, send them the bill
 Share this content via...
K1Machine 10 #6 Posted October 11, 2018 If the immature Trump haters knew how to behave themselves without tearing up the joint then perhaps not so may police would have been needed.
 Share this content via...

I'm not sure people do hate the immature Trump, it's just that they don't like his policies all that much.
 Share this content via...

I don't know about tearing up the joint, the protests particularly in London were very peaceful.
 Share this content via...
