Sheffield students rag week 2018

To 'rag' someone is to behave badly and bother someone and is used in Sheffield and elsewhere.

Sheffield was one of the first Universities/Medical Schools associated with charity fundraising. This became Rag Week where people got 'bothered' by loud parties of (medical)students to give money for local charities.

 

The main aim was and is still Raising And Giving -the new acronym.

How can a charity get designated please and is it too late?

Do want to give your money/property to a designated charity- if so write down your wishes and get it signed and stored properly.

Do you want to turn an existing organization into a charity or create a charity then contact the Charity Commission.
