Not proven terror attack?

I was just watching this on the news. It looks deliberate but why did they think they would get past the barrier? Maybe they watched too many films that had balsa wood barriers, the real ones tend to stop you in your tracks... as it did!

The news now saying it's a terror attack (Or being investigated as such)

It's being investigated as a possible terror attack at the moment I believe.

The police choose the wording of any press release very carefully.

At least we know the barrier does its job.

Last I heard no serious injuries, I think they said just a couple of cyclists taken to hospital. but not seriously hurt.

Well from the video on the news can see why it is being treated as a terror attack, why else would a person drive like that?

These terrorists are a bit crap really. As you say it's really a non event. The police have the little scroat, and they can deal with him appropriately.

Lets hope that the cyclists are not badly hurt. From what I saw they had a car drive head on into them, they are very lucky in that regard.

I could understand a simple crash from a stroke or diabetes.... but that was deliberate driving surely as you say.

I very much doubt that.

He will be interviewed by specialist anti terror officers who will not even confirm his name and age until he is charged or released.

Wouldn't surprise me if the guy turns out to have mental health issues.

The news reporting he is not co-operating . He is a 29 year old from Birmingham. Definite terrorist attack in my view. Why else would he be there ,and do what he did ?

Nobody is saying that it wasn't.

I said that the police would not have made any comment about whether he was cooperating or not.

It is true what they say about the reliability of eyewitness testimony. One guy being interviewed on a number of TV stations has said that the car was being driven at high speed, 'at least 50mph'. This claim was repeated by a number of news organisations. If you actually look at the CCTV footage and it is in real time, which it looks to be, the car was probably doing no more than 15 or 20 miles per hour at the time it hit the barrier.
