Sky HD HDMI lead

Can someone tell me why you have a HDMI lead with a pink end and the other end is black? Thanks alan p.

its probably for identification purposes so if youve got more than one hdmi device you dont get confused

because on the Sky Q box, the HDMI socket is colour coded pink... as are the rest of the cables, so you know you plug the correct cable into the correct place...

 

Pink = HDMI

Yellow = LAN

Blue = Power

Hello to you both, thanks for getting back to me,its not the Qbox its a normal Sky HD box which only has the one HDMI socket so there wouldn't be any confusion where to fit the cable. I was thinking it might have a different use other than just a normal HDMI cable. Thanks again.Alan.

I believe the normal Sky HD has a pink surround also, it's something they brought in with new(er) Sky HD boxes... (though I don't think all will have it)

 

but one cable supplier for them all, is probably the reason...
