What does this error mean

This morning I attempted to access a website that I viewed last week and got this error message:

Application Instantiation Error.

Is this an error on my mac or the webpage?

I have googled it but don't understand the terminology!!

grand: Try re-reading the OP, they have googled already but don't understand the results. If you yourself do not know or understand the answer then you aren't contributing to resolving the OP's enquiry.

The results that do return all suggest that it is an issue with the webpage you're trying to view. Most if not all of the stuff that come back from the first page appears to signify it's dodgy joomla (a web management system)
