Everyone's salary should be viewable online

Here's an idea. Some people get ever so cross at people who earn lots of money so let's hear who's willing to share their own salary details.

We have friends in Norway, and everybody there has their income and tax details online and searchable.

I voted not. Its no one's business but my own what I get paid.

An interesting point about Norway is that you will be told which private individual looked up your income/tax information.

They publish your gross income/tax which may or may not always be the same as your salary.

Understandable. For the jobs me and my partner do anybody could work it out easily. Salary scales for her, and typical salarty for me available easily.

Someone would have to know whereabouts on the scale you were to be able to guess your income though wouldn't they?

TBH you wouldn't know whether the amount of tax I pay is correct or incorrect..what would be the point in you finding out how much I pay in that case?

Good point. A proportion of mine is investment income, maybe 5-10%. Revealing that could indicate scale of assets/investments.

Maybe there should be some kind of parallel register indicating how much dog food the household consumes?
