I have a second home that i am paying for but do not use, do i pay this additional fee?

Even if it's a beach hut, if it happens to be on the council tax register as a second home you will be regarded as one of the moneyed class so it's a certainty you'll get clobbered.

Personally I think it's disgraceful that anybody has more than one home, whether they use it or not. Such surplus properties should be seized by the state and put to better use than their owners could ever imagine.

This is not Labour party policy, I'm sorry to say.

Yes, more like North Korea or Cuba, but it could change.

I think that's a bit strong.

I agree in principle, but until we have either 100% home owning democracy or enough decent council houses / housing association houses, we are going to need private landlords. There's a big difference between decent, responsible Landlords, and the grubby, greedy type whose only interest is making fast money.

I do think though that the current situation, with Landlords buying up available property, has kept prices artificially high and priced some people out of the market.

So, a business with more than 250 employees will end up bookmarking 10% of its profits. Of that 10%, a maximum of £500 will be given to each employee, with the rest going to the state. The business then has to pay tax on the profits and the employees will have to presumably pay tax on that 'share' dividend.

A large corporation will just relocate HQ to another country, and the state will get nothing.

The housing situation in many parts of the UK is in a terrible state.

Wealthy middle class buyers have priced out ordinary, decent working class British home seekers in London and many other cities and towns.

Gordon Ramsay has three homes in Cornwall, one of which can be rented for £7,000 per week. Local people cannot afford to purchase a property. Holiday homes must be be taxed at least double the rate of council tax and rent controls should be introduced into the private housing market to deter profiteers.

At last the Labour party under Jeremy Corbyn is taking the situation seriously and looking at radical ways to rebalance the system for the many and not just the few.

It's a great idea, and if the company goes bust they also have 10% of the liability to help pay suppliers etc.

Right?

Labour, in power, will transfer the ownership of our water and sewerage companies to new regional water authorities (RWAs). Existing shareholders will be compensated with bonds, the level of compensation to be decided by Parliament. All staff will transfer on a TUPE basis in the same roles, EXCEPT for senior executives and directors - whose posts will be re-advertised on dramatically reduced salaries capped by a 20:1 pay ratio policy.

So much of our water in the UK is now in foreign control. Severn Trent, Thames Water, Northumbria Water and Yorkshire Water are just a few that send their profits overseas. Roughly half of our water suppliers are owned by investors overseas.

Time to take back control of our water!

Yes, I think it's a good idea. I think we should keep hold of all our important Utilities. IMO they should never have been sold off in the first place. The privatised Electricity companies are a joke.

It is madness running the water companies for the short term profit of the few, at the long term expense of the many.

Labour is, under Jeremy Corbyn, delivering exciting and popular policies which will transform our society for the better.

It comes as no surprise Comrade Corbyn and his mad socialists are wanting to take us back to the dark ages . They really do despise anyone who works hard and is a success in business .

Richard Flint, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Water, in 2017/2018 received a £422,000 salary, an annual bonus of £279,000, and his 3 year LTIP matured so he got £926,000 overall.

He received this salary for being the boss of a company with no competition.

Why would you think this?

They believe in responsible Capitalism as much as anyone else, but that is not what we have right now; we have Neo-Liberalism, which is to Capitalism what Communism is to Labour. It has gone way too far too far to the right, and people should beware as to where this will lead.

Jeremy Corbyn wants to redress the balance and make things fairer for everybody, that is not taking us back to the 'dark ages' by any means, but seeing that work pays and is rewarded fairly. The Tories have promoted rampant Capitalism and has rewarded the 1% in bucketloads, at the expense of everyone else and condemned a whole generation to insecurity and a poor future. Labour does not 'despise hard work and business success,' on the contrary, it wants to give everyone a fair chance to succeed.
