Steve Pinder   10 #1 Posted March 12, 2018 I had an amusing conversation yesterday when the name of a pop group called 'Johnny & The Blue Stars' cropped up. Anybody out there know anything about them? I presume they originated from Sheffield.  My dad took me and my best mate to see them one Sunday lunchtime at the Arundel (I think) WMC at Manor Top circa 1964. Their amplifiers blew up on stage after some dodgy 'Norman Collier type' microphone problems. It still makes me laugh after all these years when I think of it. Cruel of me, I know.  They were pretty good actually when the equipment didn't let them down. As I recall Johnny was a striking blonde-haired looking guy who fronted a three piece band.
