YOUNG VOICES THE LARGEST CHILDREN’S CHOIR CONCERT IN THE WORLD

Young Voices is celebrating its 15th Musical year in 2011 with this year’s concert series at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena.

For over 15 years now we have been introducing children to a wide variety of music and performance opportunities by encouraging everyone to learn, enjoy and share music and singing.

Over 5,000 children are in each of our 3 concerts at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena this year.

Young Voices believes that music and singing enhances life, that children deserve the best, and that teachers should be encouraged and supported so that they can develop an understanding of music in the children they inspire. We are what music and singing should be to all children: something to love and remember.

We currently organise over 14 capacity concerts a year in the UK & Ireland’s leading Arenas. Each year over 2,500 schools, 90,000 children 6,000 teachers and 120,000 family and friends come together with some of the UK’s leading artists to enjoy music and celebrate singing.

This year we are pleased to announce that we will be joined by some amazing artists, all of which are ready to make our celebrations all the more special. These include:

Connie Talbot (of Britain’s Got Talent Fame). Connie became an overnight star after she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2007 when she was just 6 years old. Her YouTube clips have been viewed over 350 million times and she is in the Guinness Book of Records for her singing. Connie says this about joining Young Voices: “I’m very happy and feel honoured to be invited to these concerts and I’m really looking forward to singing with the other children”

The High Kings (Ireland’s platinum Folk Band Of The Year) showcase their incredible versatility and skills as multi-instrumentalists, playing 13 instruments between them bringing a rousing acoustic flavour to brand new songs as well as some old favourites. The ensemble’s energetic and unique sound of ‘folk n roll’, continuing to live up to their reputation as a phenomenal live band, serving up laughter and good times. Taking some of the classic ballad repertoire from the past and mixing those songs with new and exciting modern songs in the folk idiom, The High Kings are embarking to become the hottest folk and ballad act of the new millennium.

Randolph Matthews, whose brand of soul, jazz and world beat box has taken him around globe over the last 10 years. Randolph has performed solo to 15,000 people so far this year, showcasing his mastery of interactive singing, sharing songs of his roots of Africa and the sunshine Caribbean. Every performance is a unique experience. Get ready for some live, fun, vocal expression for all the family!
