Campana   10 #1 Posted October 14, 2017 St Leonard's Church Wortley are having a Bell Tower Open Day on Saturday 28th October from 11am to 4.30pm. Come and explore St Leonard's Church, the Churchyard and find out about the heritage inside. Memorials to the Wortley family and the Earl's of Wharncliffe. The bell tower is open to visitors, guided tours up through the ringing room, the clock room and into the belfry. Climb to the belfry to see the 8 bells which were refurbished and overhauled in 2016. The 124 year old church clock mechanism, a bell ringing demonstration. Find out more about tower bell ringing, it could be a new hobby and interest for you. Entry is free, a donation would be appreciated. Refreshments are available and there will be a Christmas card and cake stall.
