The move to a completely cashless society could mean governments have even more control over our wallets. Nobody really wants that.

Concept and believe of money is very old, older than Buddhism.

If I were on my own living on an island would rather have some good weather than all the money on the world.

Politics and cashless society is not possible it will never happen. Control of wallet is only a problem when you identify with the wallet, nothing wrong using it for practical purpose but when its gone you are still there.

In your attempt to be all mystical and hippy you entirely fail to consider that money is necessary if you don't live on a desert island and want to buy some food, or petrol, or pay the rent or the mortgage.

Government control of your wallet isn't only a problem if you identify with it, it's a problem if the government stops being benign.
