What you say there is true, but in the context of this thread the OP hasn't seen fit to tell anyone what was said, who was saying it and what the religous context was - so it's very difficult to have an intelligent discussion about it.

It is also impossible to make a racial and religious hate thread out of it.

The OP was asking what if anything could be done about it. The words I remember being used in the OP. were crass and homophobic. Some people seem to have taken the OP to be about a Christian preaching hate when nothing was said, perhaps intentionally, about what religion. What religion is not really relevant unless people want to start an anti "Them" thread in response.

The OP. did not say what god or religion the person was trying to promalgate just that they were preaching hate.

The trouble is there will always be some who will continue to do this, no matter what god they think is telling them that some people are doing the work of the devil. Confronting them with their misconceptions is the only way challenging their opinions with truths dismantles the machinery of hate.

You are right. I read 'Christian' between the lines but I am guilty of making assumptions.
