The Miniaturist. What did you think?

I tried to read the book but never finished it, so I thought I'd watch this instead to see if all would become clear...

I'm afraid not. But, brilliantly acted and beautiful to look at. Stayed in my head too, so maybe one you have to watch a couple of times to get all the nuances.

Or maybe I should just give up...

I thought it was brilliant. Probably the best thing on tv over Christmas, I’m enjoying watching ‘ Little Women ‘ too.

I also thought it was brilliant but was left feeling a bit disappointed at the end, because the explanation for why the miniaturist was sending the miniatures and how she had such insight into the household was unclear, unless I missed something. The central drama was so powerful and compelling that the mystery of the miniatures was almost unnecessary.
