Squirrel   10 #1 Posted December 18, 2003 Hi  I'm looking for recommendations for good suppliers/fitters of carpets for my house. I was considering John Lewis but had a bad experience with them (but would be interested to hear if anyone has a more positive view).  Thank you
 Share this content via...
Techtomic   10 #2 Posted December 18, 2003 Pyramid Carpets on Chesterfield Road (Woodseats) were good when they did a lino floor in my kitchen one year ago.  They'll come and do a free quote too.
 Share this content via...
Dug   10 #3 Posted December 18, 2003 Mintons on Broadfield Road does a good selection of the "natural" carpets.
 Share this content via...
Squirrel   10 #4 Posted December 18, 2003 Blimey! Thanks for the speedy responses - I hadn't realised how good this forum was. I'd never heard of Pyramid or Mintons, but will check them out. Thanks again
 Share this content via...

I've been looking around all the main carpet places looking for some natural carpet, not sure exactly which material yet but none of the main showrooms do anything, only place that I saw any was Within Reason on Devonshire Street, but they were £30 a square metre or something  I'll have to go and have a look there! thanks
 Share this content via...
Dug   10 #6 Posted December 18, 2003 They specialise in natural looking carpets.  We've found the staff at Mintons really helpful and they usually have a selection of carpets on at sale price.
 Share this content via...
tinajones   10 #7 Posted December 29, 2003 I'm trying for a carpet at the mo.  I've tried Pyramid Carpets on Chesterfield Rd but they and their fitting service is expensive (although 48hr service), plus they talked down to me like I was wasting their time even though I told them exactly what I was after.  Carpet Right are cheap but the serice was shoddy and their turn around time is 2 weeks - I want one now!!!  Arrrrrrggh. Wheres this Mintons? Near Heeley Swim Baths?  And what about Balfours on Stanniforth Rd, - any reports?  Any one got any reccommendations atall?! Please!!! I need someone to cut me some rug asap!!! kingsland   10 #12 Posted January 31, 2007 Hi Try looking on the internet, you can save alot of money online. Ebay has a few shops, or do a search in google. You do get what you pay for though. Even though a carpet may look similar to one you seen somewhere else, they can vary in quality quite substantially. Research suggests many consumers don't even feel the carpet when they are looking around. Yet the only real determinant with carpet quality is its feel. Look around for 5 year wear guarantee's offered by manufacturers, if this sort of guarantee is offered, you can be certain that it will last and is made of hard wearing materials.  Use my pricelist to compare against your local and Internet shops. Most shops will stock the carpets that are contained in our pricelist. A few exceptions are Allied and Carpet right, who change the carpet ranges names to steer off competition.  You can also request samples so you can feel the quality  http://www.kingslandfloors.co.uk
 Share this content via...
