Is racism on the increase?

Recommended Posts

With various big news votes, racism has come out of the closet. People that are voting to leave the EU are not racist, but just mistaken in their political ideas.

Is racism on the increase at the moment?
No, but it's getting more public -and so, more reported on- than usual, due to current politics stoking, self-servingly of course, high levels of ideological division in the public.

You won't see any decrease either, whilever the political debate -so much here in the UK as anywhere else- remains dominated by the populist exploitation of ideology, rather than by pragmatism.

Not all leave voters are racist but all racists will have voted leave.

I believe peoples race views have become more legitimised. They've just been silenced until now.

People need to be active, politically, or they will see bad politics.

Not sure how that relates to my post which you quoted. Political activism and schools of political thought are not mutually exclusive, quite on the contrary.

Its always been there but at the moment its populist, people have slowly being turning inward and less tolerant of others.

With the likes of the wars in Syria and Iraq etc and the subsequent migrations, and the upsurge in terrorism, people like Donald trump, UKIP, the daily mail etc managed to turn the tide in their favour, so it has grown a little bit and out of the shadows.

No it’s just people like you keep bringing the subject up again and again

Really? I bought the subject up because it shameful that every time you read the news, someone has been attacked (verbally or physically) because of their race.

If you listen to the idiots of organisations like Black Lies Matter or pay any attention to the snowflakes who caused such a major issue with the black lad and the hoodie then you could well begin to belive racism is on the increase. If however you live in the real world then you can clearly see that no, it isn't.

Maybe you should indeed listen to other organisations, rather than displaying your own prejudices in such an ugly fashion.

There are loads of evidence sources that point to all hate crimes being on the increase. I'll leave this one here for the little Englanders to consider.. I could have chosen any one of thirty recent reports. They all say the same thing.
