McMafia, new BBC crime drama

Recommended Posts

Very promising start of the new BBC crime drama about the English-raised son of Russian mafia exiles trying to become legitimate businesman, but when his uncle is murdered, he is sucked into world of international crime.

I hope this will remain tense crime drama, and that it won't turn into high budget soap opera.

I will give it a watch on iplayer as missed it yesterday- I am a bit of a mafia fan.

McMafia sound a strange title for a drama- people may think it's something to do with Mcdonalds..

I was thinking it was probably about the Glasgow gangs, when I saw the title.

I have just watched the first episode- does have a reference to McDonalds!

But more about growing a mafia franchise-this is hopefully going to be a tense revenge drama.

James Norton has been touted as yet another new James Bond, he is a pretty good actor though, could see him as a Bond.

Well I hope it lives up to its expectations, because with being filmed in so many locations, it has cost the BBC a few million to make apparently.

I started to watch it but wasn't really fully concentrating enough to follow the plot.

Agree that James Norton is a good actor he was excellent in Happy Valley.

I had read that Croatia was used for nine of the countries.

It’s fast moving and needs all of my concentration.

Yes, that "Prague" in second episode yesterday is actually Zagreb, capital of Croatia.

I've enjoyed the first couple of episodes, it is fast moving. I think James Norton is great, loved him in Happy Valley and Grantchester.
